Earlier in the day the Rotarians of Arcos took us to see a wonderful waterfall that looked good in the dry season, but we could imagine that in the rainy season the flow would be a lot greater. Liz was the only one brave enough to go for a swim and I think she got a little more wet than she bargained for!
Today we went again with the Rotarians of Formiga who took to see lots of different places around the area, including a limestone factory, a social housing enterprise that rotary have been assisting with and also to a working farm with 600+ cattle together with a really different garden and a variety of other animals ranging from pigs to emu to Labrador puppies! We also saw some of the other produce produced on the site. Here we had a traditional local lunch with the obligatory beans and rice which is actually very tasty!
We then managed to squeeze in a visit to a primary school in Formiga followed by a photo opportunity at the main church in the town. All the churches here are very imposing.
as we have had such a full day, and its now midnight Brazil time, with another busy day tomorrow I will call it a day with the blog, only to say:
Boa Noite,
Andrea
