Lianne is writing about our experiences at the mine today to share with you so I thought I would take the oppertunity to share with you some personal and team developments which I have noticed during our study exchange so far.
Team
I have started with team as I think its of benefit to all our readers rather than just people with an interest in me.
Our presentation delivery has developed do quickly as we have had to adapt to our surroundings with the facilities and audience varying.
The variations have included;
Language barriers
Computer and projector availability
Ages and interests of audience
Area of presentation
We now adapt to the situation so if we need to drop the powerpoint we do.
We stand in s place where we can all get to what we need to and be seen well.
We also pick common ground to engage the audience such as the local area or shared interests such as football.
As a team we have all shared what we think has gone well and what could improve after our presentations. We have all supported each other so the reviewing process has been positive.
We have really come together as a team when we have been asked to provide new presentations and information at last minute with all of us taking a role to achieve the desired outcome.
To be effective we have been clear in objectives and ensured that each person is aware of their responsibility, and not that anyone has needed it we have all been supportive to each other. These things are vital to achieve a good end result.
Tonight we are set to deliver a presentation in full Portugese. This is a bit of extra pressure but as we are settling into the public presentation work I personally think its time we had more challenge upon us.
I dont think that I need to talk about how well we are doing with the blog as a team, I think our hard work is evident and is something which we are all proud of.
Personal
Personally I can now perform presentations better with less preparation.
I can start my speaking without showing nerves and remember to speak slowly, loudly keep my body towards the audience and make eye contact with people across the room.
Although I feel nerves I also have a sense of confidence that I know if I do the above I will come across well.
