Café Selecto

Plantation

The plantation is a couple of miles from the company that prepares and produces beans and coffee is called Café Selecto.

The bean is within a fruit grown on a tree and different types are different colors.

The plantation is huge going on for miles and miles.

The Production

One bag 60kg 20 bags inside
Buy £3k per bag

Coffee beans are cleaned and mixed to create different flavours.

The beans taste differebt depending on the area they have grpwn and the soil they have grown from.the beans grown in higher ground is usually has the best classification.

The two main types of bean here are Arabica and Robusta.

Product Sampling

We witnessed the sampling.

First the beans are roasted. The coffee is prepared and tasted through drinking and spitting it out.

The tasting is very technical and is checking for pollens and other impurities within the flavours.

There is no machine that can do this job its down to human evaluation. Its a highly skilled job and well paid.

Classification of Product

There are 5 different grades of coffee. These are based on quality and strenght.

They price the beans on this classification. The better the coffee classification the higher the price.

I have just tried an expresso and was told it was a low grade and it was delicious.

The better grade coffee can be double the price of the lower graded.

Products

Cafe Selecto roast beans here and sell within Brazil.

They also beans are exported in bean form to places that then create the products. Large coffee companies like the names you see in the supermarket prefer to buy the beans and roast themselves.

Price of Beans

For a 1200kg bag of beans id about £3000.
